FAQs about New American Eagle Service
Who can I contact for information, reservations or baggage questions about the new American Eagle Service?
- For reservations or other information: 800-433-7300. For baggage questions: 800-535-5225
When should I check in?
- Recommended check-in time is at least 60 minutes prior to departure. Passengers will be checked into the secured area 40 minutes prior to departure and boarding will be 30 minutes prior to departure.
- CHECK-IN REQUIREMENTS AND BAGGAGE ACCEPTANCE CUTOFF TIMES
- Customers must comply with minimum check-in requirements to retain their seats on the flight on which they are confirmed. Pre-reserved seats are subject to cancellation unless you have checked in (obtained a boarding pass) at least 30 minutes before scheduled departure. American Eagle does not guarantee to provide any particular seat on the aircraft.
- For passengers checking bags, there are also baggage acceptance cutoff times. “Baggage acceptance cutoff time” means that customers must present themselves and their baggage to an airline representative for check-in 30 minutes before scheduled departure for the departure airport.
- What items can I bring on the plane?
- 3-1-1 for carry-ons = 3 ounce bottle or less; 1 quart-sized, clear, plastic, zip-top bag; 1 bag per passenger placed in screening bin. One-quart bag per person limits the total liquid volume each traveler can bring. The 3 oz. container size is a security measure.
- Consolidate bottles into one bag and X-ray separately to speed screening.
- Be prepared. Each time TSA searches a carry-on it slows down the line. Practicing 3-1-1 will ensure a faster and easier checkpoint experience
- 3-1-1 is for short trips. If in doubt, put your liquids in checked luggage.
- Declare larger liquids. Medications, baby formula and food, breast milk, and juice are allowed in reasonable quantities exceeding three ounces and are not required to be in the zip-top bag. Declare these items for inspection at the checkpoint.
Will my luggage be transferred to connecting flights?
- Yes. If you check your baggage with American Eagle, it will be transferred to any connecting flight that you request.
